A good deal on a back-to-school bike

The Fuji Absolute 4.0 is a no-frills bargain at $359. No shocks, no disc brakes, just plain old getting around on 700x35 tires. The frame has fender clearance and mounting points for a rack. It would go well with the Axiom laptop pannier.

Bike maps from Windham Regional Commission

You can now go to our regional planning commission's web site and download some very special maps—bicycle suitability maps, to be exact. These are maps showing hills, shoulders, traffic volumes, and road surfaces as they matter to cyclists.

parking in Brattleboro-really!

Please note that the town bus stop has been moved to be directly in front of the River Garden building to provide better shelter. The two spaces directlyin front of our Paramount building are unaffected by this change. For your convenience, the former bus stop in front of Candle In The Night is now an all-day loading zone where you can stop to load and unload your bikes.

Probably the best parking tip in downtown Brattleboro these days is the Harris lot behind the Gibson-Aiken Center. We usually park here and more often than not there are 6-10 long-term spaces open.

Southern Vermont's oldest continuously operating bike business

Brattleboro Bicycle Shop is a year-round, professional sales and service store right in the middle of Vermont's coolest downtown. We sell and service most types of bikes and support bikes as transportation in southern Vermont.

Our mission is to provide the highest level of person-to-person service for anyone who loves to ride bikes, especially those who prefer them to cars. We depend on cars, too, but Brattleboro Bicycle Shop believes the world will be a better place if the pendulum swings away from cars and back towards people.

Paint jobs from $199

Bring us your old, your tired, your weary steed with the blotches of RustOleum™ primer on it, and we'll have it back to you looking like a million bucks in two weeks! Options available for a fair upcharge include colored clear coats, metal flake, pearls, prismatics, and fades — but a single-color spray job for just $199 plus tax and transportation is pretty hard to beat.

We like to let our thoughts linger on some of the bikes that pass through the shop. Read about this and other projects in our Repairs & Service Bike Gallery.
