GARY
FISHER
Tassajara $829
The
entry level trail bike everyone should start with - one real
value bike for the money. Just for fun, take a quick look
at what
Rescue, Inc. does with this bike.
Womens'
version is slightly shorter in reach (not all women need
that).

Notable
features at this price
|
The
same frame geometry and ride balance as the top of the
line trail racing bikes. The Fisher Genesis ride
is more stable downhill and gives more traction uphill
than other designs. The more even spoke tensions made
possible by the rear Bontrager Asym rim result
in a stronger wheel that stays true longer. This Manitou
fork has separate rebound and compression damping adjustments
and a lockout lever for climbing, something formerly
unheard of in bikes of this price range.

Why
we like this bike
|
A
real trail bike. You can take it right out of the shop
and ride it as hard as you want, and the only complaints
you should have are that you wish it was lighter and
had longer wearing gear parts.. both of which cost more
money. Your choice there.
|
|
Who
is this bike for?
|
The
active outdoors person who knows s/he needs quality
equipment but wants it on a tight budget. We will tell
anyone who wants to ride Vermont trails that they ought
to have a Big Sur, but if
that's not in your budget, get one of these.
